Join us for an enlightening webinar, sponsored by the ITE Education Council, where faculty members from Humber College and Iowa State University will unravel the complexities of integrating generative AI into education. This session delves into key aspects such as understanding generative AI models, exploring their applications, recognizing challenges, and sharing strategies to leverage artificial intelligence for an enhanced student learning experience. As the importance of AI in education continues to grow, we'll also explore the intersection of AI and academic integrity, providing valuable insights for educators navigating this critical landscape.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand what generative AI models are
  • Understand the applications in the field of education
  • Recognize use cases and lessons learned
  • Understand an introduction to artificial intelligence
  • Recall the intersection between artificial intelligence and academic integrity
  • Recognize ideas on how educators might leverage the use of artificial intelligence to continue to support student learning

Policies: Registration closes 30 minutes prior to start.
The webinar recording will be made available on-demand it will have a shelf life of 60 days to register before it is archived. Participants are able to purchase and retrieve their PDH credit certificate until their access to the content expires. After the content expires and goes into archive, the PDH credit certificate opportunity is forfeited.

  • Jennie Miron, Professor Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness (FHSW) Humber College | Toronto, ON, Canada

    Jennie Miron is a full-time professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences & Wellness (FHSW) at Humber College and has taught in the Bachelor of Nursing program for the past 18 years. Jennie completed doctoral studies at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario in 2016 with a research project that focused on academic integrity content and post-secondary education. She is the co-chair of the FHSW Academic Integrity Council, board member at the International Centre for Academic Integrity, chair of the Academic Integrity Canadian National Consortium, and past chair of the Academic Integrity Council of Ontario (AICO). Life and professional experiences have shaped Jennie's efforts to promote integrity across the educational landscape and continue to influence her professional writing, presentations, and research on the topic.

  • Chris Day, P.E., Associate Professor | Iowa State University | Ames, IA, United States

    Chris Day is an associate professor of civil engineering at Iowa State University and currently serves as the research coordinator for the traffic signal systems committee. He holds a PhD in civil engineering from Purdue University and is a registered PE in Indiana. His research and education focuses on applications of emerging datasets and analytical techniques in traffic operations and performance measurement.

  • Anuj Sharma, Pitts Des Moines Inc Professor of Civil Engineering | Iowa State University | Ames, IA, United States

    Anuj is currently the Associate Director of Translational AI -Center and Iowa State and Co-Director of REACTOR Lab. Their research focuses on implementing Industry 4.0 technologies to accelerate transportation operational decision-making and improve quality of life.
