Designing for Bicyclist Safety

During this, webinar we will discuss the range of bicyclists and what is needed to provide a bikeway network that is suitable for bicyclists of all ranges and abilities. Participants will be presented with U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration policies and guidance using a flexible approach to meet the needs of all modes and users. Currently available safety analysis tools will be compared, and considerations for qualitative safety analysis will be presented.

Learning Objectives

  • Describe characteristics and needs of bicyclists with a range of abilities;
  • Identify limitations of CMF’s for evaluating design choices for bikeways; and
  • Refer to alternate resources for innovative design guidance and analysis tools.

Webinar Contributors typically provide a PDF of their presentations; but this may vary on a case by case basis. If they are provided, ITE will upload the presentations into the resources tab of this event within 24 hours of the event.

How to earn PDH/CM Credit:
The certificate of completion and 1.5 PDH/CM credits will be made available to the registrant after you have attended the webinar and the evaluation has been completed.

Recordings are available for 30 days following the day of the live event for anyone who purchases the course. Additional attendees at one location are not eligible to earn PDH credit for viewing a recording.
