Description

We will discuss the usage of children as witnesses in custody cases. What's the appropriate age to have a child deemed a competent witness? How do you prepare a child to be a witness in a manner that is different from other witnesses? Can you refuse to call the child if you think this would cause psychological damage to the child? Who gets to make this decision? How do you cross examine a child and not appear to be a bully? We will explore these complex issues that are raised when a child is called as a witness.
