Why should lawyers participate in civic life? Do lawyers have a duty or responsibility to their culture, their government, the public? It is certainly possible for a lawyer to practice all day, maintain the required CLE, and be a success by any measure. Yet law is a learned profession, one whose practitioners can both maintain and contribute to our democracy. Justice Bob Edmunds will discuss the ethical duties lawyers have to pursue civic engagement.
