Adult drug treatment court is not only an alternative to incarceration but is a means to treat substance use disorder as opposed to punishing it. In this presentation I will provide an overview of Adult Drug Treatment Courts in North Carolina. We will also address common issues that arise when dealing with clients who are in active addiction, and how we as their attorney may be able to help.
