All attorneys must address their own biases, whether it is racist or classist. By confronting these things about ourselves, we are in a better position to advocate for our clients. We cannot recognize when our clients are being impacted by various biases until we have learned to recognize those biases within ourselves. Attorneys can improve their ability to serve clients by being self-aware, practicing acceptance and operating with intentionality. This presentation will review actionable strategies attorneys can use to serve as effective advocates for all clients.
