Two leading tech start-ups - Alexei Agratchev, CEO of RetailNext and Josh Neckes, President of Simon Data – share their perspective on how they are enabling merchants to better manage and operate their business using data. Each company will highlight specific and relevant use cases where data can optimize: omni-channel operations and experience, cart abandonment and fraud management as well as reduce checkout time and how analytics can give insight into the payment methods driving the highest conversion and optimal consumer experience. These presentations will be followed by a moderated discussion and audience Q&A.

  • Alexei Agratchev | CEO - RetailNext

    Alexei Agratchev is the CEO and Co-founder of RetailNext and he serves on its Board of Directors.

    Before founding RetailNext in 2007, the world’s first technology company dedicated to providing advanced in-store analytics for brick-and-mortar retail businesses, Alexei spent eight years at
    Cisco Systems. During his tenure at Cisco, Alexei held a number of leadership positions with direct responsibility for developing and launching new product lines. He was the Founder and
    General Manager of an internal startup within the Cisco Systems Emerging Technologies Group focused on developing video applications for the gaming and retail markets.

    Prior to Cisco Systems, Alexei was a consultant at Accenture in its Electronics and High Tech Operating Unit. He was responsible for the design and implementation of enterprise solutions that enhanced business performance for various corporations.

    Recently named to the Silicon Valley Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list, Alexei holds a
    bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Claremont McKenna College, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. He has also completed the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program and the Cisco Leadership Series.

    Joshua Neckes is President and Co-Founder of Simon Data, the first and only enterprise customer data platform with a fully-integrated marketing suite. Prior to founding Simon, Josh led marketing teams and provided his expertise in strategic planning, business development, user acquisition, sales, and product management to major brands.

  • Matt Nichols | General Partner - Commerce Ventures

    Matt has been an investor in and operator of early stage technology companies for 15 years. He has a specific focus on commerce and retail technology. At Commerce Ventures he has led investments in Grabango, Mulberry, Pensa Systems, RewardLayer, Simon Data, Syte, and Trove (Yerdle).

    Prior to Commerce Ventures, Matt was the CEO of Gemvara, a disruptive jewelry eCommerce business that was sold to Berkshire Hathaway. Matt also worked as a venture capitalist at Highland Capital Partners and Morgan Stanley Venture Partners where his investments included Bullhorn (Acq’d by Vista Equity Partners), Pixable (Acq’d by SingTel), Avamar (Acq’d by EMC), Tarari (Acq’d by LSI), and Perceptive Software (Acq’d by Lexmark).

    Matt was a member of Morgan Stanley‘s Technology Corporate Finance team where he was part of the Google IPO team and also spent time in Google’s corporate development group. Matt studied Economics at Pomona College and earned an MBA with high distinction from the Tuck School of Business.
