  • Chad Kobayashi | Sr Director Retail & Logistics Technology - Maverik

    Chad Kobayashi oversees all retail and logistics technology including point of sale, payment, network, ERP software, technology hardware, and security across Maverik’s 400 store locations and growing in 12 western states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, New Mexico, Nebraska, Nevada, Oregon, South Dakota, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming. He is responsible for ensuring existing technology keeps stores operating seamlessly while implementing new technology that continues to evolve the customer experience. He’s been awarded “Defender of the Legend” twice during his tenure at Maverik, a recognition for exceeding store support expectations, and is relied upon for his impressive leadership and mentorship capabilities. He is active in both NACS and Connexus as co-chair IRWC and participates regularly in industry share groups such as Merchant Advisory Group (MAG), NRF, PDI User Group, and IT Study Share Group, where he works to elevate participant’s knowledge and skillsets from various organizations within the industry.

    Prior to joining Maverik seven years ago, Kobayashi worked as a Product Manager at Carrier Performance Check, Logistics Coordinator at Simon Transport, and Fleet Manager at Pride Transport.

  • Scott Ethington | Payment Security and Fraud Manager - ExxonMobil

    Scott Ethington is the Global Payment Security and Fraud Manager for ExxonMobil's retail fuel business. He is responsible for the security and compliance of payment card and consumer loyalty programs operating in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific regions. Scott has been with ExxonMobil for 20 years in various roles, including IT project management, Application Security, and Cyber Security. He worked to launch the internal Red Team and established regular Purple Team exercises to build collaboration between the offensive and defensive security organizations. Scott holds a BS degree in Management and Master of Information Systems Management degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.

  • Michael Silver | Payments Fraud Strategy Analyst - 7-Eleven

    Michael A. Silver, CFE is currently the Treasury Payments Fraud Strategy Analyst for US and Canada Store/AFD Payments as well as US and Canada Mobile App Payments with 7-Eleven since early 2020. Mobile App payments include: Digital Wallet, Delivery, Mobile Fuel Payments, Mobile Scan and Pay Checkout, Mobile EV Charging Payments, Cashierless Stores, Subscriptions and Marketplace Partnerships. He is also an active Certified Fraud Examiner.
    Michael has been in the Financial Service and Payments industries for over 12 years and a MAG Member for the past 10 years. He has worked in various roles in Payments and Fraud with 7-Eleven, Inc and Southwest Airlines; Transaction Monitoring and Reporting in AML/CFT with Enterprise Financial Crimes Compliance with JP Morgan Chase, Financial Services AML Compliance with Capital One Bank and US and International Government Reporting and Compliance with MoneyGram International. He is also an Apple Retail alumni and a U.S. Marine Veteran.

  • Itai Sela | CEO - B2 Payments

    Itai Sela is the CEO of B2 Payments USA established to help the US migration to EMV. Over the past 20 years Mr. Sela has become a Subject Matter Expert in the payment industry, specializing in, Smart Cards (EMV), Fraud, Risk Management, Cryptography, Contactless and NFC technologies, E-Commerce, Training and Consulting. Mr. Sela is an internationally experienced speaker, trainer and consultant with a sound reputation and an exceptional track record of delivering proven results in both business and technical environments constrained by limited execution time frames and complex user requirements. Throughout his career in the payment industry, Itai has spoken in numerous events, delivered hundreds of payment related trainings and participated in several committees and forums including planning and implementation of EMV, Contactless and NFC projects around the world.
