MedComms Networking, which celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2017, is a global initiative that facilitates networking and dialogue amongst individuals working in and around the pharmaceutical industry and MedComms, focusing on specialist medical education, medical communications and medical publishing activities. Tiberio Catania, Chief Commercial Officer, EPG Communications Group Tib is Chief Commercial Officer at EPG Communications Group where he has overseen business venture and collaboration for the past 4 years. With life science industry experience spanning 20 years, Tib has worked with most leading pharma companies and previously held positions at Agnitio, Cegedim, Dendrite (now Quintiles IMS), and DuPont Pharma. Tib is a regular international speaker and author as thought leader on topics including digital effectiveness, behavioural marketing and innovation, harnessing his experience of HCP engagement via epgonline.org, the website for healthcare professionals (operated by EPG Communications Group). Siân Williams, Executive Officer, International Primary Care Respiratory Group Siân, Executive Officer, co-founded the charity International Primary Care Respiratory Group (www.theipcrg.org) 17 years ago with a group of primary care clinicians with a respiratory interest with the ambition to work locally, collaborate globally to improve respiratory health in primary care. The IPCRG now has a network of 30 national primary care respiratory groups and a global community of practice. It runs world conferences, research meetings as well as education programmes in low, middle and high income countries. The most recent was in Sri Lanka, with webcasting to China. Siân will reflect on the development of the IPCRG's education strategy, partnerships with academic, NGO and commercial organisations including the use of digital options and the IPCRG's emerging thinking. Frances O’Connor, Business Unit Head, Digital Medical Communications Ltd Frances’ background includes Scientific Services Director at Darwin Healthcare (part of WPP) and Scientific Team Leader at Apothecom ScopeMedical Ltd. Frances joined EPG Communications Group in 2017 to oversee the inception and launch of new company, Digital Medical Communications (DMC). She has since built a team of experts in medical communications science, strategy and innovation, as well as securing and leading the development of new customer relationships. Frances has a MSc in Translational Medicine and a BSc in Biology and Criminology. Dr. Lauri-Ann Van der Poel MBChB MRCPCH MSc (Allergy) Dr. Lauri-Ann Van der Poel is a UK national grid trained paediatric allergist, currently working flexibly as a consultant in children's allergy at Guy's and St Thomas’ Hospital Trust, London. Lauri is passionate about innovation in medical education and digihealth and is part of the team behind FoodMaestro, an intelligent ingredients search platform, creating and supporting fantastic apps to support or those with allergies and intolerance, coeliac disease and other medical conditions. Lauri-Ann also serves as secretary of the Paediatric Section Board for the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. As a regular contributor and participant at EAACI meetings and congresses, Lauri-Ann recognises the benefits and opportunities presented by both ‘live’ and ‘streamed-digital’ format events. Lin Lei, Associate Director and Head of Congress and Events Experience at Teva Pharmaceuticals Lin Lei has spent the past many years pushing the boundaries of traditional pharmaceutical congress and event sponsorships. With a background in marketing, digital and events Lin is keen to bring a new level of costumer experience thinking into Teva’s approach towards this channel. Having launched a number of digital initiatives during events such as social media, live content generation, hybrid meetings she continues to experiment and pursue the best in class solution for the HCP community.
