Monkeypox: Diagnosis, Treatment, & Prevention

ACCMA will be hosting a one-hour virtual presentation about monkeypox with representatives from Alameda County, Division of Communicable Disease Control and Prevention (DCDCP) and Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS). The program will cover the nature of monkeypox, clinical manifestations, viral transmission, signs and symptoms, vaccinations and treatment, and public health measures that are underway. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the monkeypox virus and how it is transmitted
  • Recognize signs, symptoms, and how to treat the monkeypox virus
  • Understand the steps clinicians should take upon diagnosis of monkeypox
  • Understand the vaccines currently available and education on prevention
