Influencing health care policy starts with uplifting physicians’ voices, but the process can be intimidating. Join us for an all-day Saturday event to bolster your skills in communicating and building relationships with legislators by engaging in interviews and interactive practicum. While attending in person is highly recommended, attending virtually is an option. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for those in person.
Understanding the Legislative Process and Relationship Building. Take a deeper dive in to the process of developing a bill and affecting the outcome and understand how to develop relationships with individual legislators.
Conducting the Meeting: Dos and Don'ts. Learn to conduct a meeting with legislators. How to prepare, what to bring, and how to handle last minute changes.
Mock Legislative Meeting. Practice your advocating and lobbying skills by participating in a mock legislative meeting.
Hearing From Those on the Inside. Hear from a panel of experts on how they advocate, lobby, an develop relationships with legislators.
Networking and Legislative Day Announcements. Network with fellow participants and speakers and receive information on the upcoming Legislative Day in April.
