eBook: Smart Manufacturing Discussions

Moving toward Smart Manufacturing requires so many things: making analytics and big data practical, creating the digital twin and digital thread, deciding the role of MES/MOM, achieving the smart connected factory, and enabling smart connected supply chains.

In a fall 2018 Smart Manufacturing Community Workshop, groups of people discussed each of these five topics. This roundup of the topics covers challenges and questions about definitions, technologies, processes and needed education. Participants also brought forward examples of what they have done so far, and what’s worked well. Those seeking to move forward in Smart Manufacturing will find a wealth of ideas.
