A NEW Learning Collaborative for Early Intervention/Prevention Professionals and Supervisors Interested in Providing Reflective Supervision

We are excited to offer this new learning series in collaboration with the Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health.

This training series is geared towards 0-6 Early Intervention/Prevention Supervisors and Professionals who are interested in integrating IMH principles and practices into their work and would like to. be trained to provide reflective supervision. Attendees will participate in a 3-hour monthly training and a 2-hour RS monthly session for 12 months.  The series will also include specialized Endorsement support for the cohort as they work towards applying for the NEW Infant/Early Childhood Family Reflective Supervisor Endorsement (IFRS and ECFRS) categories. Click to hear from Joni Zieldorff, LMSW, IMH-E®, MI-AIMH Endorsement and Training Director about the newest Infant Family Reflective Supervision and Early Childhood Family Reflective Supervision Endorsement categories along with purpose and value in attending this training series.

Description: This training series will cover the foundations necessary to offer Relationship Focused, Culturally Informed Reflective Supervision to infant and early childhood early intervention/prevention professionals. The series begins with the foundations of: infant mental health, reflective supervision, and the importance of reflective supervision in relationship-based work. As the series moves forward, topics such as parallel process, observation and assessment and holding multiple perspectives are introduced and discussed. The series addresses the impact of trauma, adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) & toxic stress on families, direct service staff, and ourselves as reflective supervisors. Importantly, the impact of power, social identities, race and culture are woven throughout series through discussion and case examples. Attendees will be offered opportunities to practice and deepen their reflective skills through implementation of culturally-humble reflective supervision and will be a part of co-creating a group process and experience that will promote bravery and honest self-reflection. This series will be highly interactive with case examples, role playing, reflection, and small & large group discussion.

Who can attend: Michigan attendees must be providing supervision to at least one 0-6 professional by 3/15/2023 to attend. Attendees must also have direct service experience themselves (as an early intervention/prevention professional) or be currently providing direct service in addition to supervision.
