  • Carla Barron, PhD, LMSW, IMH-E®

    Carla C. Barron, PhD, LMSW, IMH-EⓇ is an Assistant Research Professor and Clinical Coordinator at the Infant Mental Health Program at the Merrill Palmer Skillman Institute at Wayne State University. Dr. Barron teaches infant mental health courses and is involved in research aimed at the education and training of infant and early childhood professionals. She is also engaged in community outreach through training, dissemination of research, and the implementation of reflective supervision/consultation.

  • Harleen Hutchinson

    Dr. Hutchinson is the Executive Director of the Journey Institute, Inc. and she has more than twenty-five years of experience working with high-risk infants, preschoolers, children, adolescents, and adults suffering from a broad array of mental health and /or substance abuse disorders. Dr. Hutchinson conducts Developmental Evaluations, Parent-Child Assessments, Full Battery Psychological and Psycho-educational Assessments on preschoolers, children and Adults presenting with developmental, intellectual, learning and/or emotional difficulties.

    She employs a Psychodynamic Approach while integrating the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Systemic Therapy, Play Therapy and Developmental Guidance, when working with preschoolers, children, adolescents and their families.

    Dr. Hutchinson's areas of specialization include Early Childhood Mental Health, Mental Health Consultation, Children & Adolescents Treatment, Training, Assessment and Evaluations. Dr. Hutchinson is a trained Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist, a Nationally Rooster Child-Parent-Psychotherapist, a Registered Circle of Security Parent Educator, and a Zero to Three's DC:0-5 Certified Trainer. She has extensive experience working with attachment, grief, loss, and trauma clients from a wide range of multicultural backgrounds. Dr. Hutchinson is the Broward Chapter Chair of the Florida Association of Infant Mental Health (FAIMH), and is the first clinician in Broward County to earn the Florida Infant Mental Health Endorsement. She also works collaboratively as a clinician, assessor, and leader with the Broward County Early Childhood Court (Circuit 17). She is a current board member of the Broward Healthy Start Coalition, The United Way Board of Governors and The Alliance for the Advancement of Infant Mental Health Task Force. She is recognized as a leader in Reflective Supervision state wide and nationally.
