    As a board-certified pediatric orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Minkowitz practices all aspects of orthopedics with an emphasis on bone health to increase an optimized result. She is an expert on vitamin D and its association to pediatric fractures, and has given local and national talks on the subject with multiple scientific presentations, and has appeared in newspaper articles and radio talk show discussions. She has published both clinical and academic papers for which she has received international, national and regional awards, as well as several research grants, and is an expert in the following: pediatric trauma and fractures, osteomyelitis and joint infections, foot deformities including clubfoot, complex limb deformities, neuromuscular disorders, pediatric orthopedics, osteochondritis dissecans, nonunion/malunions, spina bifida, slipped capital femoral epiphysis (SCFE), congenital hip dysplasia CDH, rickets and osteomalacia.

    Dr. Minkowitz is also part of a multispecialty initiative to aggressively diagnose and treat infections using contemporary technology, when indicated. She is involved in a multicenter study regarding simple open fractures with Lurie Children’s Hospital. She holds staff positions at Morristown, Overlook and Chilton medical centers, and has practiced medicine for nearly 20 years. She holds degrees from both Columbia University and New York Medical College. She received orthopedic training at Maimonides Medical Center, and pediatric orthopedic training at Shriner's Children's Hospital in Minneapolis, with a pediatric orthopedic fellowship at the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital in Atlanta.
