Grand Rounds Webinar Series: CURES Act - What is Information Blocking and How Do I Comply?

Description: Last year the federal government released new rules and requirements on the access, exchange and use of patients' electronic health information (EHI). The regulations prohibit information blocking which is defined as practices that are likely to interfere with, prevent, or materially discourage the access, exchange or use of EHI. Physicians, hospitals, EHR vendors, health information exchanges and networks are all subject to ONC's rules and are collectively referred to as "Actors." Actors are required to comply with ONC's information blocking regulations starting April 5, 2021. Presenters will provide information to help you and your medical practices better understand the information blocking requirements and develop a compliance program. They will also explore the intersection with other federal laws like HIPPA and Michigan regulations.
