This educational activity was developed by the Adult Psychiatric Access Line in cooperation with the Master Center for Addiction Medicine.
This training will equip primary care providers with practical guidance on prescribing a short, three-day supply of buprenorphine as a bridge for patients with opioid use disorder (OUD). Bridge prescribing can reduce withdrawal symptoms, lower the risk of relapse or overdose, and give patients the critical time they need to connect with an addiction medicine specialist for a full diagnosis and treatment plan. Providers will also be introduced to the Adult Psychiatric Access Line, a resource that can assist providers in administering treatment and connect patients to resources.
