Description
Many clinical settings are experiencing shortages in staff. Despite these shortages, treatment programs must still do their best to meet the needs of those they serve. At times, treatment teams may be prevented from matching all clients to counselors of a requested gender. This webinar will discuss ways to support clients of different genders while also allowing counselors to use appropriate clinical strategies to navigate potential roadblocks related to gender.
Learning Objectives
  • Participants will be able to identify three ways gender differences between counselor and client will impact the therapeutic relationship.
  • Participants will be able to identify unique needs between people of various genders to enhance motivation during treatment.
  • Participants will be able to describe three ways to navigate potential barriers to treatment caused by gender differences.
