The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically impacted SUD treatment and prevention programs worldwide. Along with the impact on society, treatment professionals must also endure challenges with patients’ access to treatment, an ongoing opioid epidemic, and crisis-impact/trauma-related issues. Addiction professionals are helpers, employees, rescuers, and people…many, people in recovery. Thomas P. Britton, DrPH, LPC, LCAS, ACS
Thomas P. Britton, DrPH, LPC, LCAS, ACS, has been involved in the behavioral health field for more than 25 years, and his extensive work history provides a rich background from which he leads The Gateway Foundation. Throughout his professional career, Britton has held the belief that “all people hold the innate potential to improve their life and the lives of those around them.” Britton is committed to lifelong learning, completing a Doctorate in Public Health at the Gillings School of Global Health, a master’s degree in addiction treatment and a master’s in marriage and family therapy. Currently, Britton is the President and CEO of the nation’s largest non-profit treatment provider specializing in substance use disorder treatment, The Gateway Foundation. He has taught and lectured throughout the country and considered an expert in the intersection of addiction and the larger context of public health and policy.

Lisa Dinhofer, MA, CT
Lisa Dinhofer, MA, CT, mentors companies past traumatic and destabilizing events to regain stability, establish a new normal and build resilience. She is a certified Thanatologist with a sub-specialty in trauma, trained counselor, trained mediator, and a crisis communication specialist with 18+ years of professional experience training, consulting, coaching, debriefing and public speaking. Dinhofer currently serves as a designated coach for both 1000 Days Sober and Strive, an on-line community based in the UK for people who want to stop drinking alcohol. Dinhofer has personally experienced the trauma and heartache from a loved one struggling with Opioid addiction. She served as an Adjunct Instructor in the Graduate Thanatology program at Hood College, is President of Koden Consulting Services and founder of crisistamerclub.com.

Andrew Kolodny, MD
Andrew Kolodny, MD, is the Co-Director of Opioid Policy Research at the Heller School, Brandeis University. His primary area of focus is the prescription opioid and heroin crisis devastating families and communities across the country. He is also the executive director of Physicians for Responsible Opioid Prescribing, an organization with a mission to reduce morbidity and mortality caused by overprescribing of opioid analgesics. Kolodny previously served as Chief Medical Officer for Phoenix House, a national non profit addiction treatment agency and Chair of Psychiatry at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City. He began his career working for the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene in the Office of the Executive Deputy Commissioner.

- A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the CE quiz and access your CE certificate. You have 10 opportunities to pass the quiz. If you are unable to pass the quiz in the allocated number of tries, then you must retake the course.
- Upon passing the CE quiz, you will be required to complete the survey evaluation for the course. Once that is completed, your CE certificate will be immediately available to print.
