Description
In response to the nation’s opioid crisis, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) awarded a two-year grant to provide technical assistance (TA) to states and territories to the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry (AAAP) with a coalition of national professional organizations. These TA activities are designed to enhance the work of the Opioid State Targeted Response efforts already underway throughout the United States and territories. The State Targeted Response – Technical Assistance (STR-TA) Consortium utilizes local experts in prevention, treatment, and recovery to facilitate access to evidence-based resources. This webinar will provide an overview of the U.S. opioid crisis and technical assistance models. Participants will gain a complete understanding of technical assistance and how it can assist providers in addressing addiction related needs by utilizing community resources.
Learning Objectives
  • Describe how technical assistance can assist providers in addressing the U.S. opioid crisis.
  • Understand different levels of technical assistance used to address the U.S. opioid crisis.
  • Apply resources from the State Targeted Response – Technical Assistance (STR-TA) Consortium.
