Description
This webinar provides an overview of a multi-component, multi-media tool for use by addiction and other helping professionals to assist adults and youth in addressing life trauma and conflict through knowledge, attitudes and skills developed in the frontal cortex of the brain. Building Healthy Relationship in Recovery is developed from an intensive set of psycho-emotional-social-spiritual Cogitative Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy DBT and Motivational Counseling approaches that, if followed, will result in brain pathway and lifestyle changes to build a healthier and happier life with oneself and with others. This program affects behavioral learning with emotional development and maturity that results in long-term changes in the brain and behavior.
Learning Objectives
  • Participants will be able to identify at least 5 words, phrases and behaviors in the limbic area of the brain and how that hampers recovery.
  • Participants will be able to identify the 5 stages that relationships tend to traverse through in romantic relationships. (Honeymoon, Disillusion, Misery, Awaking, Peace/Calm)
  • Participants will be able to identify the four types of agreements to lead persons out of the stage of misery. (Financial, Emotional/Psychological, Spiritual, Physical/Spatial)
  • Participants will be able to identify the 10 tips to healthy living.

Presenter
Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, BSW, NCAC II, CDC III, SAP

Cynthia Moreno Tuohy, BSW, NCAC II, CDC III, SAP is the Executive Director of NAADAC, the Association of Addiction Professionals and has worked as an addiction professional for over 40 years. She previously served as the Executive Director of Danya Institute and the Central East Addiction Technology Transfer Center. Prior to this, she was the Program Director for Volunteers of America Western Washington, serving homeless populations and dealing with the co-occurrence of poverty and substance use and co-occurring disorders. In addition, she has been the administrator of multi-county, publicly funded substance use prevention/intervention/treatment centers with services ranging from prenatal care to serving the elderly for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and is certified both nationally and in State of Washington.

To earn a CE Certificate for viewing this webinar, you must view the webinar in its entirety, pass the CE quiz, and complete the online survey evaluation.

  1. Upon completing the webinar, you will have access to the CE quiz within the course you are taking. Find the CE quiz and click “purchase.” NAADAC members will be prompted to register for the CE quiz for free, while non-members will be prompted to pay a $20 processing fee to access the quiz.
  2. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the CE quiz and access your CE certificate. You have 10 opportunities to pass the quiz. If you are unable to pass the quiz in the allocated number of tries, then you must retake the course.
  3. Upon passing the CE quiz, you will be required to complete the survey evaluation for the course. Once that is completed, your CE certificate will be immediately available to print.
