For people in recovery, giving back and personal growth are pathways to growing in their personal recovery. The emerging workplace of recovery coaching and credentials for peer specialists offers opportunity for building on lived experiencing, entering the workforce, or expanding competence in an existing professional field, for example as a substance use disorder counselor, social worker or supervisor. While options are many, how to achieve the knowledge, skills and ethics to becoming a recovery coach, a CPRS, or a supervisor is often murky. This workshop will provide an overview of training, supervision, the intern experience, and more. Policy, personal examples, and how to craft your own journey will be discussed.

• Participants will be able to identify three different ways to expand competency as a workforce of recovery coach and certified peer specialist.
• Participants will be able to describe three qualities of lived experience as it relates to emerging evidence-based practices for SUD and MHD.
• Participants will be able to describe in two different ways how policy, learning requirements and experience can define their journey.

Beginning level courses introduce learners to a content area; include information about a condition, treatment method, or issue; and involve learning and comprehending content.

To earn a CE Certificate for viewing this webinar, you must view the webinar in its entirety, pass the CE quiz, and complete the online survey evaluation.

1. Upon completing the webinar, you will have access to the CE quiz within the course you are taking. Find the CE quiz and click “purchase.” NAADAC members will be prompted to register for the CE quiz for free, while non-members will be prompted to pay a $25 processing fee to access the quiz.
2. A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the CE quiz and access your CE certificate. You have 10 opportunities to pass the quiz. If you are unable to pass the quiz in the allocated number of tries, then you must retake the course.
3. Upon passing the CE quiz, you will be required to complete the survey evaluation for the course. Once that is completed, your CE certificate will be immediately available to print.
