Description
This presentation will provide an overview of the state of the behavioral health workforce in terms of size, composition, and characteristics. Emphasis will be on addiction professionals. This presentation will also summarize efforts underway by the SAMHSA/HRSA-funded Behavioral Health Workforce Research Center to conduct studies to build workforce capacity.

Jessie Buche, MPH, MA
Jessie Buche, MPH, MA, is the program manager of the Behavioral Health Workforce Research Center at the University of Michigan School of Public Health. She is a 2012 graduate of the University of Michigan school of Public Health in Health Behavior and Health Education and of the University of Michigan School of Education in Education Policy and Leadership. Buche applied her dual degrees to study the way national, state, and local school policies can impact health and education outcomes and the ways in which schools can decrease disparities by building sustainable and empowered communities. She has gained public health and education practice experience as a teacher, community health educator, advocate, and researcher in Washington D.C., Chicago, Detroit, New York City, and Ann Arbor. Buche's research interests include obesity prevention, food justice, and addressing chronic disease and behavioral health inequities in urban and rural communities.

Phillip M. Singer, MHSA
Phillip M. Singer, MHSA, is a doctoral student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and researcher at the Behavioral Health Workforce Research Center. He studies the politics of health care and health reform. In particular, his research interests focus on state health policy, access to care for vulnerable and underserved populations, and the implementation of the Affordable Care Act. Phillip previously received a Master in Healthcare Services Administration from the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
Phillip M. Singer, MHSA, is a doctoral student at the University of Michigan School of Public Health and researcher at the Behavioral Health Workforce Research Center. - A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the CE quiz and access your CE certificate. You have 10 opportunities to pass the quiz. If you are unable to pass the quiz in the allocated number of tries, then you must retake the course.
- Upon passing the CE quiz, you will be required to complete the survey evaluation for the course. Once that is completed, your CE certificate will be immediately available to print.
