Description
This webinar will explore how people in recovery from addiction can help others by providing peer recovery support services and creating recovery-supportive environments. Many aspects of peer services will be touched upon, including how to consider peer and other recovery support services in an era of health reform and change.

Presenters
Tom Hill
Tom Hill serves as Director of Programs at Faces and Voices of Recovery, a national advocacy organization representing people, families, and communities supporting long-term recovery from addiction. Tom’s key roles include spearheading an effort to accredit peer recovery programs ad organizations, organizing Statewide advocacy coalitions and organizations, building capacity in grassroots recovery community organizations, and developing systems, policies, and programs to reinforce peer recovery support services. Tom has served on numerous committees and boards, including SAMHSA’s ATTC National Advisory Council, Partnership for Recovery Steering Committee, and the Annapolis Coalition Steering Committee. He is a founding Board member of Faces and Voices of Recovery. Tom was a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow in the Developing Leadership in Reducing Substance Abuse initiative from 2003-2006, is a recipient of the Johnson Institute’s 2006 America Honors Recovery Award, and is a current Fellow with the Altarum Institute.

Johnson is the Founder and President/CEO of the Detroit Recovery Project, which is a multi-service agency with a multi-million dollar annual budget agency that provides a wide spectrum of support services to the city's recovery community. Such services include: GED preparation; twelve-step support groups; housing assistance; job readiness and employment assistance; and HIV prevention, testing, and counseling services. Mr. Johnson is a trained certified recovery coach and an expert in the field of substance abuse. Mr. Johnson recently has been contracted to provide consultation on behalf of the United States President Emergency Plan Against Aids abroad to the Department of Ministry of Health, in Dar Es Salaam, Zanzibar, Tanzania, In addition, Mr. Johnson is currently a national trainer for Great Lakes Addiction Transfer Technology Center.

To earn a CE Certificate for viewing this webinar, you must view the webinar in its entirety, pass the CE quiz, and complete the online survey evaluation.

- Upon completing the webinar, you will have access to the CE quiz within the course you are taking. Find the CE quiz and click “purchase.” NAADAC members will be prompted to register for the CE quiz for free, while non-members will be prompted to pay a $15 processing fee to access the quiz.
- A score of 80% or higher is required to pass the CE quiz and access your CE certificate. You have 10 opportunities to pass the quiz. If you are unable to pass the quiz in the allocated number of tries, then you must retake the course.
- Upon passing the CE quiz, you will be required to complete the survey evaluation for the course. Once that is completed, your CE certificate will be immediately available to print.
