Description
Have you started offering peer support and gotten excited about helping people change their lives, but don’t know where to begin? This workshop will share an evidence-based tool you can implement. In this workshop, you will learn processes to: 1) identify unhelpful beliefs, 2) dispute them once and for all, 3) come up with effective new beliefs, and 4) make them stick and lead to a lasting change in life. We’ll leave with an evidence-based ABC formula that you can use with any problem or emotional upsets. When you help your peers adopt these tenants and apply these processes to life, they can change anything they desire and live a life by their design.
Learning Objectives
  • The participant will be able to identify at least one unhelpful and irrational belief.
  • The participant will be able to establish at least one helpful and rational effective new belief.
  • The participant will be able to apply the process to their current peer recovery work.
