Many public health programs fail because of an inability to implement
tested interventions in diverse, complex settings. The field of implementation
science is engaged in developing strategies for successful implementation. A greater understanding and uptake of
implementation science frameworks and measures can help public health
practitioners leverage crucial insights into how to best deliver research-based
initiatives in the complex communities where they are crucially needed.
This webinar will provide a brief overview of implementation science as well as considerations for how implementation science can strengthen local health departments work and improve health outcomes.
At the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Identify key several implementation science frameworks, models, and measures
- Explain how implementation science can help inform public health practice
- Demonstrate how local health departments can use implementation science frameworks and measures to improve their work
