This course is the first in a series designed for
Local Health Departments (LHDs) and their community partners to provide
guidance and resources on public health responses to the opioid crisis on a
local, regional and national level.
The learning objectives for this course are:
- Define what is a public health emergency and the effect this declaration can have on federal and state healthcare rules and regulations.
- Identify the roles and responsibilities of Local Health Departments (LHDs).
- Describe evidence-based public health interventions to respond to a PHE.
- Rapidly analyze and adapt programs and interventions to your local context.
- Locate resources to assist with rapid program development, implementation, and evaluation in an emergency setting.
