BRIEFING: Implementing Exemptions to Your Institution’s COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

Many colleges and universities are eagerly welcoming back students, faculty, and employees to campus – on the condition that they receive a COVID-19 vaccination. As three vaccines are now readily available, including one with full approval from the Food & Drug Administration, counsel and university leaders are focused on how to design and implement exceptions to COVID-19 vaccination requirements, whether on religious, medical, or other grounds.

This 30-minute Briefing was presented by Monica Barrett, Co-Chair of Bond Schoeneck & King’s Higher Education Practice Group, and John DiPaolo, General Counsel and Secretary of the University of California Hastings College of Law. The Briefing highlights legal and practical considerations for implementing student and employee exemptions to your institution’s COVID-19 vaccination requirement and accommodating exempt individuals.
