The 2024 Title IX Regulations are Here!

On April 19, 2024, the U.S. Department of Education, Office for Civil Rights published its final Title IX regulations. As anticipated, this Rule reverses several changes made by the Trump Administration, which took effect in 2020, by “provid[ing] greater clarity regarding the definition of ‘sex-based harassment;’ the scope of sex discrimination, including recipients’ obligations not to discriminate based on sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity; and recipients’ obligations to provide an educational environment free from discrimination on the basis of sex.”

In this 30-minute, audio-only briefing, NACUA members, Patty Petrowski (University of Michigan), Bindu Jayne (Swarthmore College), and Josh Richards (Saul Ewing LLP), will offer a brief overview of the final regulations and highlight some of the most significant areas of departure from existing regulations. This free audio briefing is open to all NACUA members who register.
