Description

This course provides a broad overview of the IRS collection process, beginning with initial assessment of a balance due through resolution of the unpaid tax balance. Participants will understand the options available for resolving an unpaid federal tax debt.

    Jon Hargis is a retired IRS revenue officer with the Small Business/Small Enterprise division. He received his enrolled agent license shortly after retirement from the IRS and established Anchor Tax Relief, LLC in Stockton, California, with his partner. He works daily in the business resolving tax collection cases for his clients. He is a member of the National Association of Enrolled Agents, the California Society of Enrolled Agents, and became a National Tax Practice Institute™ (NTPI®) Fellow in 2019.

    Prior to his federal career, Jon held management positions in the private sector with several Fortune 500 companies. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from California State University, Fresno, . He has lived in California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado.
