Taxpayers always want to reduce their unpaid IRS tax debts -- but do they truly qualify? This session will discuss the differences between the various types of offers in compromise and how to determine if the taxpayer qualifies for one.


  • Sarah Fields, EA

    Sarah A. Fields is a tax controversy manager of Prager Metis, a member of Prager Metis International.  Sarah is an enrolled agent and has worked in the accounting profession since 2008.

    Prior to joining Prager Metis in 2018, Sarah worked for the firm of E. Martin Davidoff, attorney at law.  She acquired a vast degree of experience working for one of the top 50 Attorney-CPAs in the country and focusing on collection issues and resolutions.  In addition, Sarah has also worked with Taxpayer Advocate and top IRS officials to suggest improvements in facilitating taxpayer issues.  She has been a panel presenter for the NYU Tax Forum, and speaker on Offers in Compromise for the AAA-CPA.

    Sarah Represents clients on a daily basis with regard to federal and state tax issues, negotiating installment agreements, offers in compromise, penalty abatements, audits, NYS residency issues, and other tax matters for individuals and businesses.  She specializes in Collection Matters with regard to the IRS and state tax agencies.

    Sarah listens carefully to the client's situation, priorities, and goals, and provides a comprehensive analysis of the possible solutions for their tax matters.  As a key member of the Prager Metis Tax Controversy Team, she provides her clients with peace of mind by outlining a manageable step-by-step resolution, and following up in a caring and consistent manner.  She prides herself on being able to defend her clients from aggressive actions by the tax authorities by managing their cases in a controlled and attentive way, and always striving for the best outcome.
