This class is designed to provide an introduction to a decedent's estate income tax issues. Our goal is to keep primarily to basic principles surrounding the decedents Estate Form 1041 with the following objectives.

  • Explain why not all Income and Basis of Estate Property is created equal 
  • Translate the three categories of Estate expenses issued under Final Regs. T.D. 9918 
  • Define Important Terms, Forms, Filing Dates, and Requirements 
  • Choosing a Calendar or Fiscal Year
  • Explore Distributions to Beneficiaries 
  • Examine Personal Representative Duties
  • Classify Income and Expenses – Where Does it Go? 
  • Termination of Estate

Continuing Education
