Appeals can save a taxpayer from a negative result in an IRS examination. This course describes the various ways a taxpayer can use the IRS Appeals process effectively in an examination controversy.

Learning Objectives:
•Describe how to file a protest in response to the 30-day letter.
•Describe how to effectively conduct an Appeals hearing for an examination issue.
•Understand the United States Tax Court process related to notices of deficiency and the appropriate role of a non-attorney in that process.
