Course Description
Supreme Court’s Student Loan Decision Impact on Tax Preparers and the upcoming IRS Data Integration into the Department of Ed Systems.
With the Supreme Court’s loan Forgiveness Decision, the White House’s Reaction, and the Debt Ceiling rules, we now have clarity for the upcoming student loan repayment restart. This program will explain the new role and opportunities that tax preparers will play in this new environment. The new IRS Data integration into the Department of Education systems has not been explained to the public. With this integration and the reduction of loan servicers hours, borrowers will not be able to get the proper advice and answers. This combination provides a great opportunity for Enrolled Agent to add a new service that complements their current tax business.

Learning Objectives
  • New tax preparers’ risk due to IRS data integration into Department of Ed systems
  • Describe the new student repayment changes
  • Explain the new gatekeeper role of IRS data in student loan repayment and financial aid
  • Increase revenue opportunity to include student loan repayment, forgiveness and FAFSA services
  • Tax advantages for companies adding a Student Loan Assistance Benefit
