Most federal tax controversies are litigated in the United States Tax Court. This class goes over the lifecycle of a Tax Court case starting with the petition and going through trial and decision. There will be an in-depth discussion of what types of cases the Tax Court can hear as well as the role of non attorney tax practitioners in Tax Court practice.

  • Describe the lifecycle of a Tax Court case, starting with the petition and ending with a trial decision.
  • Explain what federal tax matters the Tax Court has jurisdiction over.
