Course Description
Demands are placed on supplier diversity professionals that require expert skills and attention to detail to address and deliver efficiently. One such barrier can be noted in this example, “Diverse and minority suppliers are looking to us to ensure that opportunities are afforded them in the form of contracts and awards, while at the same time, supplier diversity professionals are seeking to advocate for these suppliers hoping to get a relationship underway so that any barriers that may exist are addressed.” This is just one of the many demands that we face while championing supplier diversity. Demands need to be addressed by using unique ideas; a shared set of proven techniques; and an understanding of the needs of the industry, organization and departments we are serving. These demands are sometimes easily met but often times require experience and expertise in the field of supplier diversity as well as industry knowledge of the unique needs each department or company must satisfy. Addressing the demands that arise in this profession will allow the field of supplier diversity to unify and collectively meet the needs of the companies we serve and the end users who will make the buying decision. To ensure this happens, we put several controls in place depending on the situation. By attending this workshop, you will learn more about the demands, and the forms in which they appear, controls that we can put in place, and best practices currently in use so that your supplier diversity strategies will continue to thrive.
