In this panel discussion session you will examine the benefits of a university partnership program (UPP). The panel will also discuss how to use the guiding principles of a UPP to generate revenue and value to campuses of all sizes. The panel will provide best practices for procurement professionals to utilize and implement a program with institutions both small and large.

Session Objectives:

  1. To outline the value of University Partnership Programs (UPPs) to an institution beyond the procurement office.
  2. To review the importance of the four guiding principles of a successful UPP.
  3. To identify ways to implement the four guiding principles of a UPP.
  4. To explore methods for utilizing best practices without the funding for a UPP.

    In her role as executive director, Amy leads the strategic framework for University Business Partnerships & Services, which manages campus-wide sponsorship opportunities, partnership collaboration and engagement through the University Partnership Program (UPP). She works directly with campus stakeholders to identify and cultivate “industries of opportunity” while ensuring partnerships are in alignment with the University’s values and mission of teaching, research, and public service.  Additionally, Amy oversees the request for proposal (RFP) process, contract development, campus category working groups, and the department budget and finances.

    Amy has also been tapped by the UC Office of the President to lead the UC Partnership Programs, an initiative which brings together the 10-campus UC system in an effort to expand the UPP model to develop multicampus and systemwide partnerships.

    Chief Procurement Officer
    University of California, Irvine

    Snehal Bhatt, Chief Procurement Officer at University of California, Irvine, has over 28 years of experience in Global Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing and Operational Excellence. Over the course of his career Snehal has held executive positions in many different companies and has gained experience in diverse industries such as automotive, industrial products, transportation, wind energy, and higher education. He has successfully established and deployed supply chain and process excellence strategies for multi-national organizations with international experience from working in the US, China and India. 

    Snehal is a certified Six Sigma Master Black Belt and a Lean Application Specialist. He is passionate about continuous improvement and is always looking for innovative ways to improve systems and processes to eliminate waste and gain operational efficiencies. He strongly believes in nurturing a team environment and collaborating with his constituents and suppliers. Snehal holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanic

  • Greg Shabram

    Chief Procurement Officer
    University of Oregon

    Greg serves as the Chief Procurement Officer at the University of Oregon. He leads a team responsible for all procurement and high-level contracting activity for goods and services at UO. Greg also oversees teams responsible for operating UO’s e-procurement system “Duck Depot”, as well as the administrating of UO’s P-Card program, and UO’s HUB outreach and sustainable procurement plans.
    Prior to his current tenure at UO, Greg worked at Boeing Commercial Airplanes as a procurement agent leading procurement and contracting activities for Honeywell systems on 777, 777X, 767, and 767-2Cin development and production. Previously Greg worked as a Contracts Manager at UO and a civil litigator in private legal practice.

    Greg has a Juris Doctorate from the University of Oregon School of Law and a Bachelors in History and Business-Economics from UC Santa Barbara.

  • Jeremy Meadows

    Director of Logistics
    University of California

    Jeremy serves as a Program Director for the University of California – Office of the President. He has been with the University of California for over 9 years in multiple roles. He currently leads a program responsible for creating lead agency agreements with their GPO Partner the enables government agencies in K-12, Higher Education and Local and State government improve their operational efficiency by leveraging the scale and expertise of UC’s purchase agreements. Prior to this role, He served as the Logistics Director for UCSD, Associate Director of the Facilities and Maintenance – Center of Excellence at the Office of the President and Associate Director of Procurement for UCSD.

    Prior to his UC experience, Jeremy worked at Cardinal Health/Carefusionas a strategic sourcing manager leading procurement and contracting activities to stand up procurement department as Carefusion was spun off of Cardinal Health. Previously, Jeremy worked as a Project Manager with a boutique consulting firm optimizing administrative spend with fortune 1000 clients for 10 years.

    Jeremy has his Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance from California State University – Long Beach.
