Resource Library on Trauma & Young Children

Early childhood educators in all settings are becoming increasingly aware of the presence of trauma and its wide reaching impact on children. Educators also often wonder how they can best support children and families in their care who are affected by trauma. Sarah Erdman, one of the authors of Trauma & Young Children: Teaching Strategies to Support and Empower, discusses the basics of what trauma is and how it can affect children’s ability to learn and thrive. Her book and corresponding presentation introduce these concepts and provide trauma-sensitive strategies that can be used directly in the classroom. Additionally, this resource library includes 3 bonus presentations on trauma and young children, a PDF copy of NAEYC's award winning journal YC, and the E-Book Trauma & Young Children: Teaching Strategies to Support and Empower.
