Teacher education programs are responsible for arming future teachers with the tools they need in the classroom. Teacher education demands range from fulfilling content standards to differentiating instruction for preservice teachers based on their academic needs and cultural sensitivity. As classrooms become more diverse and the focus becomes increasingly global, teachers are taxed in classrooms that do not match the culture in which they were raised.

Helen A. Marx, PhD, and David M. Moss, PhD, introduces a new instructional vehicle to engage future teachers in intercultural self-reflection, exploring four dimensions of cultural and global awareness. My Cultural Awareness Profile, "myCAP," engages preservice teachers in reflection about their own cultural development and primes them to engage in the deep and difficult conversations around cultural differences. The webinar illuminates the application of myCAP ( available for free on NAFSA's Web site), the theoretical underpinnings of the tool, and its use in advancing understanding of preservice teachers.

NAFSA thanks the Longview Foundation for its support of this webinar and NAFSA's ongoing programs to internationalize teacher education.
