Course Description

Did you know that 25% of Americans live in apartments? Staying organized in small residential space is both a challenge and an opportunity. The challenge arises from the smaller room size, fewer closets, and lack of storage areas (e.g., basements, attics, and garages). The opportunity arises from the necessity to simplify one’s life and be particularly careful about what to keep and how to arrange it. Apartment dwellers who are ready to embrace this new way of living can be ideal clients for professional organizers. Conversely, applying organizing principles strictly and maintaining organization via constant vigilance are approaches that can help all organizing clients, regardless of the size of their homes.

Learning Objectives

  1. Explore general strategies for maximizing small spaces.
  2. Key organizing principles for small spaces.
  3.  Know the difference between 'things vs. experiences'.
