Course Description

If you have never tried the process of creating a vision board, this workshop style presentation will be your hands-on interactive chance to get clear and imagine what you are passionate about creating in your life and business.

The process of creating a vision board is a powerful tool for setting our intention and creatively visualizing that outcome. For some of us, this might be “goals” for other it might be more loosely defined as “intention” or a “feeling”. Through words and images, we will map out our vision. This process can help us find clarity about what we are creating in our day to day life choices. Our vision boards become a powerful touchstone to bring us back to our intentions when we feel we are off course or unclear. The process of visualization is one that can be helpful in our own lives and in our work with clients. When we or our clients get stuck or overwhelmed in the process of working through change in our lives, it can be refreshing to get out of our thinking mind and into our creative body. By asking ourselves what we want things to look like and how we want to feel, we embrace and tap into our creative connection with the universe, god...whatever that might mean to each of us. I've found with many of my creative clients, organizing systems can be very different looking.

As organizers, one of our key responsibilities is to help our clients create systems that are most effective for them. We can ask questions to prompt them in this process and we can observe their creative choices in their spaces on their vision boards. When we ask them to share what an organized or productive space looks like to them, we will better understand how we can help them navigate and create these systems. What I envision for them may not be what they envision for themselves but we can help them find clarity and communicate those ideas with us through the process of creating a vision board.

I will share different types of vision boards and each individual will select and create one (personal, business, creative, images, words, a hybrid of both) that will help us navigate and create inspiration for our personal or professional progress. We will spend a bit of time writing about what we are visioning and then we will play with the art of collage to embody our personal expression. Each participant will leave this session with the knowledge and tools to facilitate both group and one-on-one vision board sessions. I will share my process including a writing exercise, possible meditation, movement, sound and other tools we can to tap into our creative visualizing process. Most importantly, you will experience the playful power of "visioning things to life" so that you can share your personal experience with clients and others.
