Program Overview
The purpose of this session is to help the learner to recognize the common standards and practices of care that are basic in the care of the students with diabetes.

Learning Objectives
At the completion of this program, the participant will be able to:
  • Identify the common practices and standards of diabetes care in the school setting,
  • Identify methods of developing standards of care for his/her state,
  • Apply the standards of care when developing the school healthcare action plans, and
  • Apply the standards of care when managing the students with diabetes.

Intended Audience
This continuing education program is a knowledge-based activity developed to meet the educational needs of registered nurses who are interested in child and adolescent health.
