2022 Safety Manager Certificate - Cycle 1

Improving the safety of business aircraft operations has always been one of our industry’s top priorities. New in 2022, NBAA in partnership with the NBAA Safety Committee, Convergent Performance, Advanced Aircrew Academy, and Fireside Partners has developed an assessment-based certificate program that will provide participants introductory-level training on safety in business aviation operations. The program includes testing in six key areas of safety management:

  • Safety Leadership
  • Safety Policy
  • Safety Risk Management
  • Safety Assurance
  • Safety Promotion
  • Emergency Response

Once the course is complete, participants will be able to effectively manage a business aviation organization’s safety management efforts, including its safety management system (SMS). Successful program participants also receive a certificate and a digital badge to validate their knowledge with their peers. This program is perfect for flight department personnel who have been assigned safety management responsibilities, or professionals looking to work in business aviation operations.

Course Details

The course will officially kick off on January 18th.  On Friday January 14th, registered attendees will receive an invitation to the kick-off call where we will explain the system and the plan for the 8 week certificate.  Attendees that register early will not have access to the course content until January 18th.  Please email NBAA's Emily Tobler if you have any questions etobler@nbaa.org.

After registering for the course, attendees can expect a confirmation email from the NBAA team within 24 hours on business days.

Cancellation Policy

While the program is designed to be taken over eight weeks to prepare candidates for testing in early March 2022, there is flexibility within the course timeline. This certificate program is a customizable learning experience, and participants can complete modules ahead or behind schedule. Only the live, meet the expert sessions will take place at scheduled times, but can be viewed after the fact at any time until course expiration (March 31, 2022). NBAA understands the last-minute nature of business aviation, and as a result of this flexible timeline, a 10% processing fee will be charged for cancellations. Should you need to make a change to your registration, email your cancellation or substitution request to NBAA's Emily Tobler etobler@nbaa.org. Cancellations must be received in writing on or prior to Jan. 14, 2022. There will be no refunds after Jan. 14, 2022.

Please note: Pricing below may only show Non-Member pricing. Upon checkout, you will be taken out of the LMS and into NBAA's eStore to complete the transaction. If you are an active NBAA member, final check-out in the eStore should show the correct Member rate. If you believe your rate is incorrect, please reach out to etobler@nbaa.org.

Registration must be completed by the individual registering for the course.
