Description

The Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) are a series of accounting rules applicable to certain cost reimbursement contracts and contractors. CAS compliance can sometimes feel like a major hurdle, especially for small and mid-size businesses who are new to federal acquisition. This webinar will get right down to CAS basics, examining when CAS applies and when a contractor (or contract) is or is not exempt. The presenter will also discuss how CAS is administered and how to prepare for some of the major impacts CAS has on covered contractors.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Explain the key purpose and requirements of CAS.
  2. Distinguish between situations where CAS does and does not apply and determine whether a contractor is or is not exempt.
  3. Recognize and prepare for the major impact of CAS on covered contracts and contractors.

CMBOK Competencies: 4.4.3, “Cost or Pricing”
