    Mauro Oddo, MD, is Senior Staff Physician at the Department of Intensive Care Medicine, CHUV-Lausanne University Hospital, Switzerland, specialist in Critical Care Medicine, Neurocritical Care and Internal Medicine.

    He is Chair of the Neurointensive Care section, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine and member of the Editorial Board of Intensive Care Medicine and Resuscitation journals. Dr. Oddo has published more than 120 peer-reviewed articles and numerous reviews and book chapters in the field of neurocritical care, neuromonitoring, coma prognostication, therapeutic hypothermia. Dr Oddo’s research group has made important contributions to the understanding of the regulation of cerebral energy metabolism in patients with acute brain injury and the relevance for therapy and management of neurocritical care patients, using novel neuromonitoring techniques, such as cerebral microdialysis, brain oxygen, EEG. He is a regularly invited speaker at main international congresses of intensive care medicine, resuscitation and anesthesiology.
