05.09.2019 | Session II: Bridge Design - Approximate Methods in the Design of Bridges

This second session is intended to go in more depth in the approach to design of bridges. It will explain approximate methods for calculating demand on bridges due to Live Loads using both the Lever Rule method as well as the approximate tables for calculating live load distribution for the design of the superstructure and substructure.
Calculation of demand from Live Load will be explained for both superstructure and substructure.

  • Course will award 1.5 hours of continuing education
