There are a number of research findings, design guides, standards, software, and other resources available today for the design of cold-formed steel (CFS) light-frame construction. This presentation will provide insight into the lateral design provisions from the new AISI S240 and S400 CFS framing standards. These new standards have been adopted by the 2018 IBC and represent the latest consensus provisions for effective and efficient CFS lateral design.
