| From bamboo to TS to HSS, hollow structural section evolution will be briefly discussed along with the corresponding research which resulted in these changes. This will include what the HSS community is doing now in response to designers’ needs and will cover the latest material specifications and available sizes. The nature of HSS sections may also present special design and construction challenges. A discussion of these challenges will sort out the misconceptions and present methods for addressing the remaining challenges. |
