12.03.2020 | Structural Planning of Gravity and Lateral Load Resisting Systems

Preliminary design of a building structure involves selection of gravity and lateral load resisting systems. The systems should meet the stability, strength, and stiffness requirements in order to transfer the imposed loads safely to the bearing strata. Selection and layout of the systems is based on several structural planning considerations and design criteria (including building codes). This webinar will discuss the important structural decisions related to system selection in concrete, steel, wood, and masonry. A series of case-studies will be used to support the discussion.
