Cold-formed steel members are becoming more commonly used
for structural members in curtain walls as well as axial load bearing wall framing. To better enable the use of cold-formed steel
members, the American Iron and Steel Institute has developed design standards
focused on the design of framing assemblies.
The three-session webinar series will provide an overview of the framing
standards as well as present a discussion of member design and behavior and
also present topics that engineers may not encounter in a design standard.
The registration fee for the Seminar is $395 for members
($600 for nonmembers), which includes all 5 hours of education. Each individual webinar can be purchased separately for $150 for members ($250 for nonmembers).

Steel Framing - RECORDING IS NOW AVAILABLE!
An overview of the cold-formed steel framing standards will be presented. These Standards are referenced in 2018 IBC. The discussion will focus on design applications for curtain wall framing, axial load bearing framing and lateral force resisting systems.
September 22 - Cold-Formed Steel Member Design Methodology - RECORDING IS NOW AVAILABLE!
The North American Specification for the Design of Cold-Formed Steel Structural Members , AISI S100, prescribes member design considerations. The discussion will focus on the unique aspects of cold-formed steel member design with particular emphasis on the similarities and differences between cold-formed steel member behavior vs hot-rolled member behavior.
